Electric Vehicle Compatibility with Tesla EV Chargers
When it comes to Tesla EV chargers, compatibility depends on whether you choose the Tesla Wall Connector or the Universal Wall Connector. The Tesla Wall Connector is only compatible with vehicles that use a NACS connector, while the Universal Wall Connector features both NACS and J1722 connectors to charge Tesla vehicles, as well as most other EV brands in North America.
Both Tesla EV chargers provide up to 48-amp output, adding up to 44 miles of range per hour, and allow users to manage charging and view usage statistics in the Tesla app. They also require hardwired installation by a professional electrician, regardless of the model.
